Training Ride – May 27, 2020

Today I went to see a Physical Therapist about the pain in the my left glute when I run. They aren't really sure what is going on yet but did give me a lot of stretching to do each day. I go back to see them next Monday. Will see if it has gotten any better. If not they may be referring me to an orthopedic doctor depending on how it is on Monday. In the meantime I'm not supposed to be running. I can ride my bike but not do big hill repeats on the bike. Also, I am to be stretching 3 times a day everyday.

This evening after a very busy day at work I finally got out for a bike ride. Honestly, I didn't want to go riding. I was tired and not motivated. I finally did get out and am glad that I did. I had a lot of fun riding my bike.

You are probably thinking it's getting really close to our trip and I'm not training by running. Yes, this is very true and it's definitely on my mind. I find myself wondering "will I be ready?", "can I accomplish this goal?" At this point I'm having to trust that the base I've built up over the last year of training and the determination to accomplish my goal is going to get me through. I'm currently trying to be patient while I work on healing and taking one day at a time.
