Training – Walk/Run & Ride – June 11, 2020

Today been an exhausting day. Mostly mental exhaustion. The day started at 5:30. By 6:15 am Doug and I were out for a walk/run. Getting back I quickly turned my attention to stretching followed by breakfast before heading out the door to do a mountain bike training ride while attending my BNI zoom networking meeting.

We filmed this so I had 2 GoPro cameras mounted to my handlebar, my phone mounted to the handlebar and our videographer filming me with his drone.

After my ride I quickly changed shirts and hopped in the Sequoia to take Doug to the hospital for his wrist surgery. I was there until they kicked me out (at the time of anasthesia). I headed home for a quick bite of lunch and a little catch up on work tasks for the day.

Surgery ended about 2 pm. Dr. Rose called me to let me know that surgery went well and Doug was doing well and would be ready to go home in about 30 minutes. I got back in the car, stopped at the pharmacy to turn in his prescription and then headed to the hospital to pick him up.

He was very hungry and we had not much to eat in the house. On the way home we stopped at City Market to pick up a few groceries and his prescription for pain.

Upon arriving home I set to the task of making lunch for Doug since being one armed at the moment it's difficult to make his own lunch.

Since then I've been working on catching up on work for today.

I'm glad the surgery is over and Doug is doing well. Now the road to recovery begins.

It's been a long day and I'm tired. Early to bed for us tonight!
